Wi-Fi and RFID: meant for each other

The BBC has a story about the potential of tracking people and objects using RFID technology and Wi-Fi networks. Basically, this combination would enable real-time tracking of objects or people. Sure it sounds great when you’re trying to find that shipment of shoes that went AWOL, or when Grandma has wandered away from the nursing home – but shouldn’t we be at least a little bit concerned about privacy? Is this really the solution for “keeping people safe”? Couldn’t those with nefarious intentions use the tracking system to stalk you even more efficiently? Get the full article here.
